i should write a proper entry because there have been some blog worthy moments but i seem too tired to do that. in short, very short i met kerry, and had fun, and it was lovely, then came the weekend and we had a sleepy museum night but it was fun and i liked pretty much the technical museum and jewish museum and it was a windy day but sooo nice having you around and then we had sushi and sushi was good. sunday evening drove down to styria and it was fun and million thanks to kathy for keeping it under 120 kmph and takin me all the way to the hotel where i found out they did not have a room for me. so i had to drive to another place. another place had lousy breakfast. but on monday we went to slovenia, dejan and myself and i stocked up on cedevita, mlinci, ajvar, cokolesnik and i even had JOGURT. the good liquidy kind. tuesday got progressively worse. woke up at ungoodly hour 4 45. drove to the plant. walked all day in crazy uncomfy shoes had elevenses with the workers (which is very very hilarious but at the same time reassuringly NICE) and then at 2 i headed back home.
only i got home at 9 instead of planned 3 pm. a disaster of a day. drove pretty fast and even went to the gas station (!) though got tad panicky and called mile to ask what do i do when it's foggy. mile saved the day and i pulled through. took me 3 h to reach vienna but then i got every wrong turn and every wrong exit and then suddenly i was driving in the city and it rained and ppl were going home from work and it just got so difficult and i had no idea where i were and the sat nav got stupid and then i found no parking spot and when i found one i couldn't park. but i did eventually. only then it was already 8 30 and i walked home in the rain.
now for the nice thing:
i got home and the flat smelled lovely and there was pie and my mirror was up and i felt just really humbled and speechless and grateful. that was one of the nicest things that has happened lately.
so i curled in my bed and then the phone rang and i spent 3 hours on the phone and by the end of it it was 2 am and i was dead.
and if it weren't for kerry i'd head home straight from work and feel sorry for myself, but instead we went to that poncy expat event and had a nice chat with some spanish ladies and two very very random guys. girls rule! so it appears. so now am home, fed, craving a beer, but adamant that i will answer no phone and go to sleep and wake up tomorrow and go on a diet.
