lazy. cold. heavy on the top.

i've become a serious aida fan.

apart from that and monday being cruel, i'm on the up (hopes). though i still seem to be late for work every morning. it takes ages to actually get up and go. i've taken desperate measures (hence the wake up light) and stocked on grains, brown rice, bulgur, the lot. as of today.

in more exciting news,
i got busted for having no ticket although honestly i thought i had one. i had one, but then i seem to have dropped it somewhere. i was dead certain i had it on me, the guy did believe me, nevertheless had no pity on me. so i've been sulking ever since.
to make things worse, i tried to make pizza but somehow it did not work out so i sulked even more. buckwheat flour is a bitch!

we've been reading loads and eating and drinking coffee and not really socializing much. i'm behind on almost everything social incl. writing emails and birthday cards. it's been one looonng winter.

i miss frankfurt a lot. i had no idea i was so happy back there.

malta in 13 days! yay!

Niels+Coco

i am one lousy tour guide.

we spent most of saturday shopping for food (?) and later walking aimlessly through the 20th district, where there's really nothing to see and then we circled round neubau (aimlessly) and at some point called it a day. sunday was grey and horrible but we embraced the rain and spent hours reading, eating and having teas and coffees in numerous coffeplaces

followed by a visit to MAK for the designfair where I ran into CocoLores, who are friends to lovely Tanja who did most of my jewelry (i digress) and WienMuseum. WienMuseum hosts an interesting overview of austrian designers 2000-2010 and we liked it much. apart from that most of their guards suck big time. rude and unfriendly and they kept running after me and asking to see my ticket.
i looked decent i swear.

in more mundane news, i drove my boss' car today and managed to avoid crashing into a big mean truck. not my fault. entirely not my fault. we were all lucky. in the end the driver regained control of the vehicle, and i was happy i kept my distance.
reverse parking was tad more difficult.
in the end stephanie saved the day.

i would add sth but i dont wanna jinx it :)

work got complicated. i will take up a 6 month mission and continue doing my project, parallel. goodbye private life.

need sleep

i should write a proper entry because there have been some blog worthy moments but i seem too tired to do that. in short, very short i met kerry, and had fun, and it was lovely, then came the weekend and we had a sleepy museum night but it was fun and i liked pretty much the technical museum and jewish museum and it was a windy day but sooo nice having you around and then we had sushi and sushi was good. sunday evening drove down to styria and it was fun and million thanks to kathy for keeping it under 120 kmph and takin me all the way to the hotel where i found out they did not have a room for me. so i had to drive to another place. another place had lousy breakfast. but on monday we went to slovenia, dejan and myself and i stocked up on cedevita, mlinci, ajvar, cokolesnik and i even had JOGURT. the good liquidy kind. tuesday got progressively worse. woke up at ungoodly hour 4 45. drove to the plant. walked all day in crazy uncomfy shoes had elevenses with the workers (which is very very hilarious but at the same time reassuringly NICE) and then at 2 i headed back home.

only i got home at 9 instead of planned 3 pm. a disaster of a day. drove pretty fast and even went to the gas station (!) though got tad panicky and called mile to ask what do i do when it's foggy. mile saved the day and i pulled through. took me 3 h to reach vienna but then i got every wrong turn and every wrong exit and then suddenly i was driving in the city and it rained and ppl were going home from work and it just got so difficult and i had no idea where i were and the sat nav got stupid and then i found no parking spot and when i found one i couldn't park. but i did eventually. only then it was already 8 30 and i walked home in the rain.
now for the nice thing:
i got home and the flat smelled lovely and there was pie and my mirror was up and i felt just really humbled and speechless and grateful. that was one of the nicest things that has happened lately.

so i curled in my bed and then the phone rang and i spent 3 hours on the phone and by the end of it it was 2 am and i was dead.
and if it weren't for kerry i'd head home straight from work and feel sorry for myself, but instead we went to that poncy expat event and had a nice chat with some spanish ladies and two very very random guys. girls rule! so it appears. so now am home, fed, craving a beer, but adamant that i will answer no phone and go to sleep and wake up tomorrow and go on a diet.

hurricane drunk

tis 10 pm on a friday night and i'm doin' housework wearing a vivienne westwood skirt (that's too tight so i obviously try to losen it up). chic or pure sad?
work's great.
great.
and there's plenty of it, but it's fun. i might make sth out of it.

social life is excellent, but then again it sucks.
there're dinners, and movie nights and coffees inbetween work, but those people although nice people are not the one's i'd normally make friends with.
apart from one, that one, the french one, with whom i tried, but it failed and i blame myself for just rushing rushing and destroying things without even letting them begin.
i fuck up everything, i do.

fluffing clouds, warming breeze

i feel as if in a fatih akin movie, and am not sure whether in a good way.

am all moved in and kind of sorted, and kind of what now
day one was insane
movers, cleaners, repairmen, all sorts of ppl popping up;
then suddenly they all went away and i spent two days sorting through chaos.
and tiptoeing round the area
in a state of blur
where i keep thinking hey there's a nice place, and here a nice spot, there another one (but i go home soon, right. right?)

i live above a strip joint,
and round the corner on my left there's a promenade of turkish shops, supermarkets, bakeries, you name it.
and right a full on hipster scene
like kreuzberg, but then again not

i start work on tuesday
and fly home in a fortnite.
